The Ancestor Spotlight

Ancestor Well
This past Sunday I heard a sermon that actually inspired and moved me to action.  “The Ancestor’s Wells” was the topic of The Spoken Word delivered by Sr. Pastor Norman S. Johnson of First New Christian Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church.  I received a call to action which has resulted in this “blog.”  Today I have drawn from the well:

Lee Arthur Ingram, Sr.
Born:  June 26, 1919
Departure: June 1, 2000
Husband, Father, Brother, Uncle, Veteran & Musician-Entertainer Extraordinaire

You may not recognize his name or his photo because his fame and notoriety only extended to a select few (as so many of our ancestors), but the essence of who he was and his contributions exist because I exist.  I encourage all who read this message to go to your ancestor’s wells and draw out an ancestor to share.  We are able to stand by the strength of the foundation laid beneath us by those that were before us.

Celebrating the life and legacy of our ancestors is a precious gift from God!
